WHAT do K-pop girl group Blackpink’s Lisa and boy band GOT7’s Bambam have in common?
Including more Asean-born talents in K-pop groups is one way the Korean entertainment industry can diversify beyond its own shores, experts said at the recent Asean-Korea Media Forum in Seoul.
Bae was one of the speakers at the media forum where experts and journalists gathered to mark 20 years of dialogue relations between South Korea and Asean. More recently, in January, GOT7 launched a reality show called Real Thai, which saw four of its members, including Bambam, travel to Thailand to find the seven wonders of the country.
“It is important for Korean people to understand Asean culture and enjoy the benefits of Asean culture too,” he said.
