, the marksman netted 128 times in 132 appearances for the UAE side, and the club has now acknowledged him as one of the best players in the history of the club.Gyan was at his former side's home venue, the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium on Tuesday, as his previous employers faced off against Al Jazira in the Pro League Cup second-leg of their semifinal.
The match ended in a 0-0 draw but Al-Ain advanced on the way goals rule, thanks to their first 1-1 away draw in the first-leg. At full-time, the Black Stars' record goalscorer met up with the host's vice chairman of the board of directors, Khaled Abdullah Hamar Ain Al Dhaheri, who honoured him in a special ceremony for his time with the club between 2011 and 2015.
In a statement published on the Middle Eastern club's official website, Gyan said:"It is difficult for me to express my feelings towards Al-Ain, the great club that I love and adore, and in which I spent a wonderful period. "I have memories that cannot be removed from my memory, and I will not reveal a secret if I tell you that I consider it the best club ever for me, and personally, I am very happy to be back in my big home.''The 36-year-old is said to have helped the Arab outfit to three league crowns and one domestic cup, in addition to finishing as the division's topscorer on a trio of occasions.
