SINGAPURA 18 Jan. - Bekas calon Presiden Singapura, Dr. Tan Cheng Bock mengumumkan kembali menyertai arena politik dan membentuk parti politik baharu. “Saya membuat keputusan untuk kembali berkecimpung dalam politik selepas lama menyepikan diri,” kata Cheng Bock, 78, yang merupakan bekas anggota parti pemerintah Singapura, Parti Tindakan Rakyat dan Anggota Parlimen dari 1980 hingga 2006.
Membuat pengumuman itu di laman Facebook, Cheng Bock berkata dua hari lalu, beliau seorang daripada 12 individu rakyat Singapura yang mempunyai matlamat sama, memfailkan permohonan dengan Pendaftar Pertubuhan untuk mendaftar parti politik baharu dikenali, Progress Singapore Party. Dua belas individu itu termasuk beberapa bekas kader PAP.
