A third man has been arrested in the death of a 20-year-old man who was fatally shot last March, Arlington police announced Wednesday.in the 2021 slaying of Omar JumaOfficers were called about 4:30 a.m. March 16, 2021, to the 8100 block of York Beach Place after Juma was fatally shot.
Police said the three men and Juma were engaged in “high-risk activity” the morning of the shooting, and during an arranged meeting, the trio attempted to rob Juma. According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, 24-year-old Darrian Hammonds showed up at Juma’s home and said “give me the weed” before fatally shooting Juma through the door. Hammonds ran to a car that 25-year-old Dillen Fields and Coleman were in and drove off.Police arrested Fields on May 18 and Hammonds on March 27, 2021.
Each man faces a capital murder charge. All three are being held in the Tarrant County jail, with bail ranging from $200,000 to $500,000..
