Monday will be a hot day in the Valley as an Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect.The warning covers most of Maricopa County and is scheduled to be in effect from 10 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. on Tuesday. A small portion of La Paz and Yuma counties are also under the warning.The high on Aug. 19 in Phoenix will be around 111°F. Hydrate: Take a cooler to keep extra drinking water cold, and consider adding several frozen bottles of water to use for cooling off or to thaw and drink if needed. Make sure everyone, including pets, stays hydrated.Get help: If your vehicle breaks down in extreme heat, call for assistance right away to reduce wait time, and run the AC. If the AC isn’t working, roll down all windows.
