As Arizonans head to the polls on Election Day, officials are hoping for the best, preparing for the worst and attempting to reassure nervous voters.
Penzone said Monday his office can't enforce the order and that he doesn't know whether people will follow it on Election Day. Anyone who violates it could be held in contempt of court, attorneys in the case say, which could come with fines or jail time.
Outdoor drop boxes remain available Tuesday to Arizona voters in downtown Phoenix and Mesa. Other voting locations have drop boxes indoors. During the primary election, Maricopa County saw a few groups of people watching those locations from parking areas.Maricopa County officials have focused in recent weeks on communicating what voters should expect at the polls and after voting in an effort to get ahead of misinformation.
