Arizona went on a furious late first-half rally to erase a 14-point deficit to Washington but still trailed 42-41 at halftime of a late-night Pac-12 game at McKale Center.
The Wildcats hit just two of their first eight shots but warmed up late in the half, managing to come back from a 38-24 lead with their 15-0 run. UA finished with a 40.5% mark from the field.
UA capped its 15-0 run wit 52 seconds left in the half when Kerr Kriisa hit a 3 pointer after Kylan Boswell picked up a steal, giving the Wildcats' their only lead of the half at 39-38. But Washington wing Cole Bajema hit a 3-pointer to put the Huskies up by 41-39 and then made a free throw after Kriisa was called for a flopping technical foul.
The Huskies, who are coming off three straight homecourt losses by double-digits, shot 50% for the first half and had some success throwing the Wildcats off with their fulltime zone defense.
