UPDATE: Phoenix police say a person connected to the shooting that injured a DPS trooper in north Phoenix earlier today is now in custody. abc15
The trooper was struck by gunfire near 19th Avenue and Loop 101 around 12:45 p.m. Thursday, according to the Department of Public Safety. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.Aerial footage of the scene showed a large police presence near 19th Avenue and Loop 101, with an area off the freeway cordoned off with police tape.
