In the Wildcats' 70-67 win over Washington at McKale Center, fans stood up most of the second half of a somewhat unexpectedly tense battle with UA's struggling but talented opponent from Seattle.

The Huskies built a 14-point lead in the first half and trailed by just 70-67 with 18.7 seconds left. When Azuolas Tubelis was fouled and missed the front end of a one-and-one at 11:15 p.m. to keep the Wildcats' lead at just three points with Washington getting a final shot at the basket, the mood inside the arena appeared particularly anxious.

Kriisa hit a 3-pointer with 3:22 remaining in the game to give UA a 63-56 lead but Washington’s Cole Bajema hit one on the other end to bring the Huskies within 63-59 with 2:26 left. Tubelis led Arizona not only with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds but also collected four assists, a career-high four blocks and three steals.Having rallied to keep Washington’s lead to just a point at halftime, the Wildcats couldn’t contain Brooks early in the second half.

The four blocks were a career high for Tubelis. He had three against Wichita State last season and against Indiana this season. The McKale Center crowd of about 12,000 mostly stood on its feet the last eight minutes of the half while Arizona erased Washington’s 14-point lead.
