We chat with GreaseRiseOfThePinkLadies stars Ari Notartomaso (AriNotartomaso) and Tricia Fukuhara (Triciacat), who play Cynthia and Nancy, about learning life lessons thanks to their new paramountplus series:

The doors of Rydell High are open once again thanks to Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, a new 10-episode musical series set in the world of 1978’s Grease and 1982’s Grease 2. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies takes place four years before the events of the original Grease, and serves as both a love letter to and an expansion of the films. The show was created by Annabel Oakes, who previously produced Minx and Atypical.

Ari Notartomaso and Tricia Fukuhara spoke with Screen Rant about joining Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies and their favorite songs from the original film. Perfect. Both of your characters deal with conflict in the show with a lot of fight, but also a lot of humor. How close do you think the two of you are to your characters in how you deal with things in the real world?Ari Notartomaso: I feel like our relationship in real life is very similar to our characters' relationships with each other. We were fast friends; we were just very close on set, and very close in person. But in terms of dealing with problems, that's hard.

Tricia Fukuhara: I feel like Nancy is really, really confident in herself, and she's just unapologetically her, and I feel like I'm apologizing all the time. I am really working on that. I've been working on it my whole life, but I definitely learned a lot from her. I think she's the reason why my hair is purple right now, because she gave me that confidence to be like, "Hey. You've wanted to do this your whole life. It's about time. Do something about it, Tricia.
