Archbishop Maury Buendía new Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain

Pope Francis has appointed the Spanish Titular Archbishop of Italica, Miguel Maury Buendía, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain.

He succeeds Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti who was appointed Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches last November. Archbishop Maury Buendía, who has spent most of his working life in the diplomatic service of the Holy See, was made an Archbishop in 2008 and has been Apostolic Nuncio to several countries, most recently to Romania and Moldova.He was born on 19 November 1955.
