Funds from a $305 million bond package approved May 7 by Pasadena ISD voters will cover projects including replacement of the concession stand and restrooms at Maguire Field.In unofficial results from the May 7 election, Pasadena ISD voters have given strong approval to a trio of propositions to authorize a total ofApproval of Proposition A in a 2,972-1,502 vote authorizes issuance of $281.
Proposition B, approved in a 2,908-1,518 vote, is for $14.9 million to provide technology and infrastructure upgrades. Proposition C for $8.8 million, approved in a vote of 2,689 to 1,728, will fund projects to renovate and modernize athletic facilities. Superintendent DeeAnn Powell said before the election that passage of all three propositions would mean the district’s debt-service tax rate, which stands at 31 cents per $100,000 in evaluation, would increase by 3 cents. The district’s current total tax rate is $1.38 per $100 valuation.
Other projects covered through Proposition A include district-wide improvements to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, new buses and water fountain upgrades so that bottles could be filled. Money also will go to buy new musical instruments.Proposition C funds will go for work including addition of a turf field and replacement of the track at the district’s auxiliary stadium and also adding a turf field and replacing the concession stand and restrooms at Maguire Field.
