Apple Inc. AAPL, -0.43% has laid off 190 employees in its self-driving car unit, Reuters reported Wednesday.

Details of the layoffs were part of a filing to California's Employment Development Department. Last month, CNBC reported that the layoffs were happening at the project, known as Project Titan -- apparently the same job cuts that were reported to the state. Most of those laid off were hardware and software engineers. Apple's self-driving car project has changed focus a number of times in recent years.
