The new iPad Mini is more powerful and it finally comes with some, but not all, of promised Apple Intelligence features.
Apple has unveiled its new iteration of iPad Mini devices and we now know when Apple Intelligence will be rolled out because of it.
With the Mini, Apple is trying to foster an air that its ultraportability doesn’t sacrifice for performance power, which was the main draw-back for the more affordable iPad, compared to its larger, beefier and more eye-watering cousins. A new AI feature called Memories will let you compile “movies” from your photos and videos by giving a prompt of how you want the images and videos to be put together, while Clean Up is a AI image editing feature to remove background or other objects from images.
It leaves out that Apple promised in June that Siri would be able to control apps on iPhone simply by asking it. You could say, “Bring up that article about cicadas from my Reading List,” or “Send the photos from the barbecue on Saturday to Malia,” and Siri will “take care of it.” Meanwhile, Genmoji is an image generator that can take your descriptions and photos and turn them into whatever kind of emoji you’d like, similar to what Meta is doing with its social media. And… That’s about it?
