It's not mass-market friendly, so this makes sense. apple VisionPro TechNave

When Apple finally unveiled the Vision Pro at WWDC 2023, they claimed that the headset would only be available next year, as developers still need to test it further. But sources now indicate that the delay could be due to supply issues affecting production.

According to The Financial Times , Apple plans to drastically reduce the production of the Vision Pro headset. The initial plan was to manufacture 1 million units, but the volume could be cut to 400k instead. As mentioned, the reason for this could be complications in the supply chain. The headset uses a lot of components, including a pair of 4K micro-OLED displays as the viewing lenses

In turn, these issues are due to the Vision Pro's design. The headset features two 4K micro-OLED screens on the inside that act as lenses, plus another display on the outside for other usages. It also has two Apple M2 chips, 12 cameras, 5 sensors, 6 mics, and other components under the hood. Suffice it to say, the Vision Pro is difficult to mass produce.

In our opinion, cutting production volume makes sense. After all, not many people can afford these headsets, so there's no sense in making so many of them. But what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news about the Apple Vision Pro.
