PUTRAJAYA: The two-day hearing in the appeal by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman at the Court of Appeal has been stretched to another day in April.
The appellate court has fixed one more day for hearing on April 17 after the proceedings ended for the day here on Thursday . Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin, who was making his submission, told the court that he had to take his submission slowly as he was losing his voice.A three-judge panel chaired by Justice Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim then agreed to fix another day for submission. Other judges on the bench were Justices Azman Abdullah and Noorin Badaruddin.
Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq told the press that he was"frustrated" by the delay but accepted it regardless.“I’ve been investigated and charged the past five years, but never once have I stopped the process from continuing. “I really wish that these last two days would be the end to this journey,” he said, adding that he would continue to fight to clear his name in the court of law.His family and friends were present to lend their support. Also spotted were acting Muda president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz and actress Bella Astillah.
