Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission , while announcing the result of the election, said APC won all 17 chairmanship seats and 178 councillor positions. Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, will swear in the newly elected local government chairmen and councillors at a later date while the winners will receive their certificates of return from the state electoral umpire.
