South Korea's police chief became the latest top official to be arrested, Yonhap news agency said on Wednesday, in a widening investigation into President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed martial law that has plunged the country into a constitutional crisis.
KUALA LUMPUR: It is high time the international community reaffirm the foundational principles of justice and equality that underpin the United Nations , says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim .
Anwar questioned the disconnect between the United Nation’s original mission and the world’s current tolerance for colonial practices. “In Palestine, their properties are plundered, their wealth squandered and their lands and lives stolen. The global silence on this is deafening,” he said in his speech here on Wednesday .
Anwar criticised the hypocrisy of nations that advocate for human rights and democracy while overlooking such blatant violations.
