“Lawatan rasmi tersebut adalah atas undangan Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim dan acara itu merupakan urusan penting yang melibatkan hubungan diplomatik antara Malaysia dan Indonesia. Beliau berkata demikian dalam sidang akhbar selepas Syarahan Perdana Professor Diraja Terpuji Tan Sri Dr. Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Kuala Lumpur malam ini mengulas mengenai lebih 1,000 pesawah dari seluruh negara dilaporkan akan berkumpul di Putrajaya bagi menghantar memorandum kepada Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pagi ini.
Kerajaan katanya, perlu mendengar rintihan dihadapi pesawah berhubung penetapan harga belian padi kepada RM1,300 satu tan metrik pada masa kini yang dianggap tidak relevan dengan kos operasi ditanggung pesawah.
