Jenazah SM Mohamed Idris dibawa keluar dari Masjid Jamek Hashim Yahya di Jalan Perak, George Town, hari ini.
GEORGE TOWN: Beberapa personaliti terkenal hari ini memberi penghormatan terakhir kepada Presiden Persatuan Pengguna Pulau Pinang SM Mohamed Idris yang meninggal dunia semalam pada usia 93 tahun. Beliau dikebumikan di Tanah Perkuburan Islam Jalan Perak pada jam 10.45 pagi, disaksikan waris terdekat, Presiden PKR, Anwar Ibrahim dan Timbalan Menteri Sumber Manusia, Mahfuz Omar.
Anwar dan lebih 500 yang lain sebelum ini melakukan solat jenazah untuk jenazah Idris sebelum beliau dikebumikan bersama ahli keluarganya lain yang telah meninggal dunia. Bercakap kepada pemberita, Anwar menganggap Idris sebagai “penganut Islam yang sederhana dan alim”, yang menurutnya jarang ditemui ketika ini.
