Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has instructed the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to immediately revoke business permits for Ramadan bazaars if vendors are found to be transferring them to third parties. He emphasized the need for strict enforcement and direct issuance of permits to vendors, without involving agents or representatives. Anwar highlighted the long-standing issue of agents charging exorbitant commissions and the alleged involvement of civil servants in the practice. He urged for a system where permit holders are the ones operating the stalls and expressed his hope that the strict implementation in Kuala Lumpur will serve as a model for other cities.
