PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with his Thai counterpart Srettha Thavisin for the first time in New York on Thursday (Sept 21) evening.
This meeting was also attended by delegations from both countries who are attending the 78th United Nations General Assembly .
"This meeting provides opportunities to strengthen existing cooperation while exploring various new forms of collaboration to enhance Malaysia-Thailand bilateral relations," Anwar said in a social media post.The two leaders also discussed issues involving national borders, the peace process in Southern Thailand and regional matters of mutual interest.
Earlier, Anwar attended a discussion with members of the Council on Foreign Relations , an independent non-partisan think-tank and publisher that promotes international relations and foreign policy. “I listened and shared national principles and policies related to international relations, the global stage and geopolitics.Related stories:
