Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's working visit to the UAE culminates with a busy agenda at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025. The visit includes meetings with global leaders, participation in key forums, and the signing of a significant economic partnership agreement.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim faces a packed schedule on the final day of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) on Tuesday, including a meeting with UAE President and Abu Dhabi Ruler Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Following the meeting, Anwar is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025 at the ADNEC Center.
Among world leaders expected to participate in ADSW are President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kenya William Ruto, President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan, and President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni. Other leaders include President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, and Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon. At the ADSW Plenary Session, the Prime Minister will engage in a dialogue titled 'ASEAN's Interconnected Future: Linking Energy, Trade & Prosperity'. This aligns with the theme of Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 'Resilience and Sustainability'. Anwar is also scheduled to attend the Zayed Sustainability Awards and the 'Youth 4 Sustainability' forum. Today will also witness the signing of the Malaysia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which aims to open new avenues in trade, investment, and economic cooperation. This visit by the Prime Minister comes at the invitation of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Ruler of Dubai, to attend ADSW 2025. Anwar arrived here on Sunday, and this marks his second visit to the UAE since October 2023, and his first overseas trip since Malaysia assumed the ASEAN Chairmanship 2025. Following the conclusion of the program at the ADNEC Center, the Prime Minister is expected to depart for London, United Kingdom to continue his official engagements in the country as part of efforts to enhance Malaysia's global standing and strengthen the country's strategic relations with major international partners
