The Prime Minister stated that if successfully implemented, the projected revenue of RM147.1 billion and the target of 35.6 million tourists through VM2026 could be achieved. He emphasized VM2025 as a new approach to establish Malaysia as a premier tourism destination, driving nationwide tourism growth.
Anwar stressed the importance of all ministries focusing on enhancing Malaysia's tourism and economic investment capabilities, avoiding any regions or states from being left behind. He described the target of 35.6 million tourists generating RM147.1 billion in revenue as pragmatic and realistic. Achieving this target would significantly benefit various sectors, including tourism, Food and Beverage (F&B), and related industries. Anwar highlighted Malaysia's unique appeal as a destination, emphasizing its eco-friendliness and diverse cultural heritage. He aligned this goal with the Madani framework, emphasizing sustainability alongside higher development levels.
