KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said his one-day visit to Turkiye is a reflection of Malaysia’s deep concern and solidarity with its people who have been affected by the devastating earthquake.

He said due to his work commitments, he was initially hesitant to visit the country, but changed his mind after he received calls from president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He also said Malaysia has successfully collected a total of RM20mil in humanitarian aid to help earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria. He was responding to a question from Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid who wanted to know the form of aid provided by the Malaysian government to help victims of the earthquake in Turkiye and Syria.
