Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim censures individuals who belittle Malaysia's humanitarian assistance to Gaza, emphasizing that such conduct contradicts Islamic principles. He underscores the gravity of the situation in Gaza, stating that the region has endured the most devastating catastrophe since World War II.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim strongly criticized those who belittled Malaysia's efforts to help Gaza , describing such attitudes as un- Islam ic. Anwar expressed his disappointment that the efforts were ridiculed while the Gaza Strip and Palestine had endured the most devastating catastrophe since World War II.

\“There are also those who claim to be clever, former leaders who said that our schools are not even finished, how can we help others? What kind of human feeling is this?” he said. “When we help people in other villages, they might say that your own village (problems) are not yet solved. Islam never thinks like that,” he added. \He made these remarks during a speech at a People's Feast outside Masjid Al-Muttaqin Taman Meru here today. Yesterday, Anwar announced that Malaysia would launch an initiative to build a school, a hospital, and a mosque in Gaza to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian people following the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza. However, this commitment was questioned by several individuals, including former top leaders, who suggested that the government prioritize resolving domestic issues first. Anwar viewed the government's move as appropriate because the horrific suffering faced by Palestinian people in Gaza for over a year was rare. \“In our lifetime, since World War II until now, this is the most devastating catastrophe that has befallen the Muslim Ummah, that has befallen humanity. Their country is destroyed, they are humiliated, and they are not given any recognition whatsoever. Children, women, and schools are all destroyed. \When we try to help a little, what is their response? Oh, we need to solve problems (in Malaysia). Until the Day of Judgment, problems in the country will never be solved, there will always be something lacking,” he said. In the same speech, Anwar announced an allocation of more than RM24 million to repair infrastructure damaged by floods in Sabah and Sarawak
