PKR president Anwar Ibrahim says the nation should ‘see out this democratic process’.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim claimed last night he has the numbers to reignite the Pakatan Harapan government. In a statement issued through the @anwaribrahim Twitter account, he said the MPs who had pledged support for him had done so as individuals, alluding to the one-on-one interviews the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had with MPs to find out who they preferred as prime minister to end the political crisis.
“I know for a fact that some of the MPs on the ‘other side’ are unhappy that their party leaders have stolen their voice,” he saidEarlier yesterday, in answering a call by Istana Negara for political parties to nominate their choice for prime minister, PPBM, Barisan Nasional and PAS announced that their choice was PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin.
The PH government made up of PKR, DAP, PPBM and Amanah collapsed on Monday after PPBM and 10 MPs from PKR pulled out. Following that, Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigned as prime minister but was appointed interim prime minister by the Agong.
