KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at Istana Negara where he will be sworn in as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister at 5pm Thursday (Nov 24).
Clad in a black Baju Melayu, Anwar, who arrived in a black BMW, was escorted by a complete police motorcade typically accorded to the prime minister.
Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, in a statement Thursday, said after refining the views of the Malay rulers, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has given his consent to appoint Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister in accordance with His Majesty's authority as provided under Article 40 and Article 43 of the Federal Constitution.
