The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, visited flood victims and announced additional funding for flood-hit areas in Kelantan and Terengganu. RM25 million is allocated for each state to repair infrastructure, and RM500 will be provided to over 14,000 civil servants in Terengganu. Anwar also stated that the total flood losses could approach RM1 billion.
Comfort during hardship: Anwar offered reassuring words to flood victims during a visit to the SK Telaga Papan PPS. He announced an additional immediate allocation of RM25 million for Kelantan and Terengganu to repair and restore essential infrastructure, and an additional RM500 to over 14,000 civil servants in Terengganu . The Prime Minister also assessed the flood situation in the state, arriving at Sultan Mahmud International Airport in Kuala Terengganu .
He stated that the total flood losses could approach RM1 billion without needing to declare an emergency
