U.K. Parliament Petition for remaining in the European Union crashes. Caveat: non-U.K. citizens from anywhere in the world were allowed to sign it.

Screen capture from the petition verifying my own personal email. I did not sign the petition, but I did confirm what other non-UK citizens were telling me. The petition required signers to simply check a box saying they were U.K. citizens and did not require a passport or other state-registered identification to sign. This suggests the petition is not an accurate measure of U.K. sentiment on remaining in the EU.
British Prime Minister Theresa May is currently in Brussels lobbying for an extension to the two-year Article 50. She wants another three months, which is one month more than the market was expecting. Keith Wade, chief economist of Schroders in London said the odds of a “hard Brexit” increased this week with the failed vote. BNP Paribas still puts a hard Brexit at a one-in-four chance.
