Cuala will now play Tinahely or Tullamore in the Leinster club semi-final.
Niall O'Callaghan fired Cuala into the Leinster club football semi-final with a 1-5 haul on their debut in the competition.
After losing to Kilmacud Crokes in each of the last three years, Naas were bidding to finally slay Dublin opposition in Cuala, who themselves ended Crokes’ Dublin reign last month. Darragh Kirwan was a handful for the Cuala rearguard, with a number of different markers employed on him including Dublin veteran Mick Fitzsimons, but the Kildare attacker still finished the half with 0-4 from play.
Their lead was out to two points when Con O’Callaghan tore down the left flank and squared to Niall, who finished left-footed to the net under pressure to push them five clear. NAAS: L Mullins; C McCarthy, M Maguire, R Fitzgerald; E Lawlor, E Doyle, B Byrne; J Burke, Paul McDermott; Paddy McDermott , T Browne , A Beirne ; D Kirwan , D Hanafin, R Sinkey .
