The 68-year-old was allegedly attacked with metal poles while he was asleep before $50,000 of his gold jewellery was stolen.

A group allegedly stormed a home on King George Street in Innaloo about 4.15am on July 23 and attacked the 68-year-old with metal poles while he was asleep before taking his jewellery from his wrist, neck and ankles.

Detective senior sergeant Bruce Bowers said police searched homes in Joondalup, Yanchep and Greenwood on Sunday, where they seized jewellery, ammunition, three guns and a quantity of drugs. The 68-year-old grandfather was robbed of his gold jewellery as he slept inside his home. Four men and two women were arrested, with one of the women later released pending further inquiries.

The men, aged between 30 and 35, and a 33-year-old woman were charged and faced court over 29 offences — some relating to another incident in Alkimos. The alleged attack is believed to be targeted thanks to the help of a historical associate who knew the victim and that he possessed the jewellery.Bowers said the grandfather has been released from hospital following facial surgery.
