PUTRAJAYA: It is the right of any MPs to decide whether or not to support the upcoming Budget 2021 scheduled for Nov 6 this year, says Tan Sri Annuar Musa .

He said this in response to a statement by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Wednesday that MPs should put aside party affiliation and give full support to the budget. The Ketereh MP also refuted claims that the plan to declare a state of emergency by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin on Friday was an attempt at passing the Budget without parliamentary deliberation."Under normal circumstances, a budget is debated in the Dewan Rakyat, before being brought to the Dewan Negara, after which it will be presented to the King.

"In the context of our constitution, emergency can be caused by many things, be it natural disasters or health pandemic.
