SEREMBAN: Umno's former Ketereh MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa is now officially a PAS member.
The former communications and multimedia minister received his membership certificate from PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang at a Perikatan Nasional political event here on Saturday night.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, who made the announcement, said apart from Annuar's application, PAS had also approved some 3,000 other applications.Perikatan president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was also present, handed over another membership certificate to Annuar, who is also NGO Muafakat Nasional chairman."I have to make it clear that I did not meet Muhyiddin nor Abdul Hadi to join Perikatan and PAS.
"I was an Umno division chief for 35 years, and served 28 years in its supreme council and have seen many things.Annuar said he wanted to join PAS although some Umno members advised him against it."I spent 50 years in Umno and do not want to spend my remaining political years supporting a party which no longer commands the support of the people," he said.
