A company and its representative, Leong Chui Hoe, have been fined a total of RM18,000 by the Magistrates' Court in Kajang for failing to comply with animal food labeling requirements last month. The court also ordered that Leong be jailed for four months if the fine is not paid.

Leong dan syarikatnya didakwa gagal mematuhi syarat pelabelan makanan haiwan seperti ditetapkan di bawah Peraturan 2 dan Peraturan-Peraturan Makanan Haiwan 2012, pada 10 pagi di Gudang E Petsome Sdn Bhd di Jalan Sungai Long, Kajang, 20 Nov. Pada hari kejadian, sepasukan pegawai dari Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar melakukan serbuan dan pemeriksaan ke atas sebuah premis mendapati, terdapat 21 item makanan haiwan berada di dalam premis tersebut.
