KOTA KINABALU: A man was killed by a crocodile while fishing by a river in Kinabatangan district on Friday.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Zulkifli Azmi and was reported missing by his friends at about 11am.State Fire and Rescue Department Operations Chief Khatizah Rahaban said the victim who works at the Tg. Bulat Jungle Camp went fishing by a river in the area.

“After receiving a call on the incident, our search-and-rescue team went in search of the victim, but operations had to be called off at about 6.16pm, ” she said.His body was handed over to the police for further action.
