The Angels use José Suarez as an opener and then rookies Davis Daniel and Jhonathan Diaz in an 8-6 loss in Minneapolis
MINNESOTA — The Angels allowed the Minnesota Twins to walk into the postseason.
The Angels are simply trying to get whatever nuggets of positive experience they can out of these last games before the season ends, eight games from now. Suarez picked up the first five outs, allowing one run. Daniel then allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings, two of them coming during one bout of wildness.
Kirilloff’s home run snapped a tie, and then the Twins broke the game open with four runs in the seventh. The floodgates were opened when second baseman David Fletcher made an error and Jhonathan Diaz, another rookie, walked three of the next four hitters.Walsh has hit three homers in the week since he’s been back from Triple-A. Overall, he’s 5 for 24 with 13 strikeouts and no walks since he returned.
