An Andrews government minister has remained tight lipped about an Australian-first levy Victoria is considering for short-term accommodation.
The Age reported on Friday the levy will be up for discussion at a cabinet meeting next week as the government prepares to unveil its long-awaited housing statement.

However, Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute managing director Michael Fotheringham said examining ways to boost supply amid the housing crisis was a"sensible step".
