After living with beer-stained carpets, broken window coverings and yellowish wood floors for four years, this California couple embarked on what ended up being a roughly $1 million renovation
Eric Wiesen and Marika Páez Wiesen, who spent years as friends but eventually wed, moved back to their hometown of San Rafael and spent around $1 million renovating their dream home
Interior designer Ann Lowengart centered the design of a home owned by Eric Wiesen and Marika Páez Wiesen on a vintage coffee table, above, with different shades of blue inlaid enamel. He inherited the table from his grandmother.
Since it was a middle-school play, the two just hugged at the wedding, though Mr. Wiesen says he advocated for a kiss. It took them 14 years to start dating—and four more before they tied the knot.
