UPDATE: Anchorage police say an officer is expected to survive after being shot by a man that has barricaded himself in an apartment complex on East 10th Avenue off Ingra Street. A SWAT team standoff still has Ingra closed from Ninth to 15th Avenues.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - An Anchorage police officer is expected to survive after being shot during an assault investigation early Friday morning, during which Anchorage police have blocked Ingra Street from Ninth to 15th Avenues due to a “disturbance involving a weapon”,A SWAT team has also been called out to help resolve the situation, as well as a Crisis Negotiation Team and a Tactical Support Unit.
