ANC Women's League members gathered in Pretoria for a march against gender-based violence and femicide on November 29, 2024. The march, which began at Burgers Park, aimed to address the increasing cases of gender-based violence in South Africa, coinciding with the international 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence . Among the demands were stricter laws against GBV, mandatory training for police and judicial officials, and increased funding for shelters and counselling centres.
The march covered a 4-km route through Pretoria's central business district, with ANCWL Secretary-General Nokuthula Nqaba highlighting the issue of undocumented migrants and their alleged role in violence against women and children
