The ANC study group on basic education says it is not true that Afrikaans is under threat as Afrikaners marched against the Bela Act.

The call comes after the Democratic Alliance , Freedom Front Plus, Solidarity, and AfriForum held a march against the Bela Act on Tuesday, 5 November. They said it is a direct attack on Afrikaans and mother-tongue education.The ANC study group said the notion that the Bela Act infringes on the right to be taught in one’s mother tongue language is disinformation.
