PETALING JAYA: The wake for the late tycoon and philanthropist T. Ananda Krishnan will be held on Tuesday .Ananda, who was born in Brickfields, passed away at the age of 86 in Switzerland on Thursday .
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Tatparanandam Ananda Krishnan on Nov 28, 2024, at the age of 86. “Members of the public who wish to pay their last respects are welcome to attend the wake,” announced the obituary.Members of the family, said the obituary, have also requested that the wake be a quiet affair, and that no wreaths, flowers or garlands be sent.
“Tatparanandam Ananda Krishnan’s legacy of philanthropy and contribution to his country and society will continue to live on,” said the obituary. Estimated to be worth US$5.8bil , Ananda often made it to the annual Forbes’ list of wealthiest people, being ranked as the third richest person in Malaysia.His other companies include TGV Cinemas, Maxis Bhd, Astro Holdings, Bumi Armada, Measat Satellite Systems, and Tanjong Plc.
