SANDAKAN: Vivian Wong Shir Yee, anak mendiang anggota Parlimen Sandakan Stephen Wong Tien Fatt, diumumkan sebagai calon untuk pilihan raya kecil Sandakan atas tiket DAP.Wong, 30, berhasrat untuk meneruskan perjuangan mendiang bapanya untuk memajukan ekonomi Sandakan.
“Saya yakin dengan kerjasama kerajaan baru, Sandakan akan dapat dibangunkan dengan keseluruhannya dan saya akan menjadikan Sandakan kawasan yang dinamik,” katanya selepas diumumkan sebagai calon pada program “Townhall Bersama Rakyat”. Anak kelahiran Sandakan itu, yang pernah bersekolah di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sung Siew, menjadi pegawai khas bapanya ketika menjadi menteri kesihatan dan kesejahteraan rakyat Sabah dan aktif dalam aktiviti sosial.
