Deborah Seal & Her Kids Struggled Financially After Barry's Death Despite satirizing the CIA’s involvement in the drug trade, American Made ends on a tragic note with Barry Seal being shot dead, supposedly by the drug cartel that he betrayed. With his family losing all their riches, the movie ends with Lucy Seal working as a waitress. This unfortunate aftermath rings true as Barry’s real-life widow, Deborah Seal, did struggle financially.
