“After 17+ years on the ATP Tour, it’s time to say goodbye to professional tennis,“ Isner wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “The US Open will be my final event.” He was the top-ranked American in the year-end rankings for nine straight years from 2012-2020 and finished inside the top 20 in the world rankings for a decade from 2010-2019.
