Will Liverman sings the title role in the Met premiere of Anthony Davis’s “X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X.”: Following the acclaimed premiere of Terence Blanchard’s “Fire Shut Up In My Bones” in 2021, the Met quickly announced that it would finally present Anthony Davis’ 1986 jazz-influenced biographical opera about civil rights leader Malcolm X.
