With the latest lawsuit regarding her marriage to ex-husband Johnny Depp about to begin, Amber Heard speaks out about what's to come on social media.
In a recent social media post, Amber Heard discusses her upcoming trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp. Over the past several years, Heard has made headlines for her personal life just as much - if not more - as she has for her career. The actress currently stars in the DCEU as Mera, the female lead of the Aquaman franchise; she will appear alongside Jason Momoa in next year's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
However, Depp has countered that Heard was actually the abusive party and has continued to fight for his innocence in several of the aforementioned lawsuits. Most prominently, Depp sued the UK paper The Sun for defamation after the publication labelled him a"wife-beater." He lost that suit in 2020, and as a result, Warner Bros. asked him to step down from his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Heard then carried on with filming Aquaman 2 last year.
Regardless of fan opinion online, the trial will take place in Virginia and will likely receive a great deal of publicity. Depp has recruited Kathleen Zellner, one of the attorneys from the Netflix docuseries Making a Murder to be a part of his legal team, and the trial is expected to see people like James Franco provide testimony.
