Amazon.com Inc. said Wednesday it will create 1,000 new full-time jobs as it plans to open a new fulfillment center in Pflugerville, Texas, which is outside of Austin. The ecommerce and cloud giant expects the new 820,000 square foot center to launch in 2021. The center will ship small items, including books, electronics and toys. Amazon's starting minimum wage is $15 an hour, and full-time employees will receive full medical, vision and dental benefits, and Amazon will match 50% of 401(k) contributions. Amazon's stock slipped 0.9% in morning trading, on track for a third-straight loss since closing at a record $3,200.00 on Friday. It has soared 65.4% year to date, while the S&P 500 has eased 0.1%.
