, speculation inside Prime Video and Amazon Studios has been mounting that their turn is next, starting as early as Wednesday. Amazon Studios is the tech giant's TV and film division and a source of content for Prime Video, one of a bundle of services that drive Amazon Prime memberships . One insider familiar with the situation — who was given anonymity because they're not authorized to speak about the company — said they expected the cuts to hit Prime Video as well as Studios, noting that leaders from both organizations were recently called to a meeting to communicate layoffs to employees.last year for $8.45 billion and it's common for duplicative roles to be eliminated when a company is acquired.
"Like any business, we continue to monitor macroeconomic conditions and our business needs, and may adjust our hiring strategy and team sizing accordingly," an Amazon spokesperson emailed.
